USKOT-RESA RfP:n jäseneksi 21.12.2013

USKOT-foorumi (RESA-forumet) hyväksyttiin 21.11.2013 (Uskonnot rauhan  puolesta) verkoston ja samalla ECRL:n (Euroopan uskontojohtajien neuvosto) jäseneksi RfP:n yhdeksännen yleiskokouksen yhteydessä Wienissä.

puheenjohtajan Yaron Nadbornikin puolestaan allekirjoittaman sopimuksen allekirjoittivat RfP:n pääsihteeri William Vendley ja ECRL:n pääsihteeri Stein Villumstad. USKOT-RESA-foorumin edustajina Wienissä olivat Anja Toivola-Stambouli ja Ilari Rantakari.

Myös Kirgistanin uskontojen neuvosto hyväksyttiin RfP:n jäseneksi.

Finland and Kyrgyzstan affiliations signed

The Interfaith Forum of Finland and the Interfaith Council in Kyrgyzstan signed affiliation agreement with Religions for Peace during the World Assembly today. ECRL was a co-signer with RfP International on the Finnish affiliation agreement.

The Interfaith Forum of Finland has been in the formation for some time, and it was an important step taken in Vienna when the Forum joined the Religions for Peace family. The forum is represented with two delegates during Assembly. Two delegates from Kyrgyzstan were similarly part of the signing ceremony. The Kyrgyz representatives pointed out the importance of being part of a global family that promotes dialogue and cooperation between religions. "The theme of the Assembly, "welcoming the other" is so relevant to our situation in our Kyrgyz situation" stated Galina Kolodzinskaia, the Executive Director of Interfaith Council in Kyrgyzstan.

The two newly affiliated bodies are important additions to the more than 90 inter-religious councils and bodies around the world. ECRL is quite pleased to receive the Interfaith Forum in Finland as a member of the European Religions for Peace family.
